Group Therapy

Can help you improve your mental health and help to reinforce and maintain your treatment goals in addition to all of your recommended mental health services, such as psychotropic medication management and Individual therapy. It involves at least one Mental Health Therapist and two or more people in each session and is typically held 1-2 hours per week. The group dynamic often helps people feel supported as they move forward and provides a lasting peer driven support system long after mental health services have successfully been completed.

Whether your personal goal is recovery, healing, improving social skills, or something else, group therapy could help you achieve it. Many groups are designed to target a specific problem, such as depression, obesity, panic disorder, social anxiety, chronic pain or substance abuse. Other groups focus more generally on improving social skills, helping people of all ages deal with a range of issues such as anger, shyness, loneliness and low self-esteem. Groups often help those who have experienced loss, whether it be a spouse, a child or someone who died by suicide.
